Nature and My Beloved— English Version of “प्रकृति र मेरी मायालु”

-Kamal Shrestha

Coy smiling, the quiescent nature,
In the morning’s frigid blow
Like stiffened freezing fingers,
Shrunk memories of human mind in vain.

Chunks of snow melt in the Himalayas,
With the inspiring morning rays leaving aside the darkness;
Piles of frost on the leaves of the tree,
Green forests, hills and mountains in vibrant zeal.

The brook bubbles and ripples in a twisted close course
Melodiously with the dispersed golden rays, of Course
Under the shade of a tree, My Beloved
All the time, she would be waiting to cover me with warm love.

In the corners, exotic beauty of this wonderful nature,
In your fragrance and tender eyes,
My heart is beating—lub dub, lub dub
Your form of beauty is constantly dancing in my sight-stub.

It’s said, “Dreams aren’t always sweet,
And an old tree never grows young again”
Today, the nature and you, together in a vibrant colour,
We will meet, such a day won’t come ever.
