The Dalai Lama and The Followers—Three Questions

Just Three Questions and the Answers will Astonish You- Test it Yourself.

It was partly raining in the evening in Dharamsala close to the perennial snowline and built along a spur of the Dhauladhar mountain range, Himanchal Pradesh, India. Most of the young people were eagerly waiting to wish His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his auspicious occasion of his birthday.

Video link was a suitable device for Dalai Lama to communicate with the followers as Coronavirus pandemic was a big threat around the globe. And, it’s true that there was a message from Oracle— “Human people, it’s a threat you have created yourself, a pandemic that hit in most part of the big cities and countries around the world; Spread PEACE & Promote SAVE ENVIRONMENT; the ecosystem of Earth is badly disturbed… I was entirely exhausted and felt difficult to breath cause of burning heat of fire and suffocating smoke in Australia and Amazon Rainforest… it was a dreadful roaring panic agony of all the insects and animals…..  now you are feeling difficult to breath cause of disease— Covid-19 and being panic to get out of it; earlier animals were like in custody now, you are yourself detained in the name of lockdown”

I remember, he had always advocated— “A Human Approach to World Peace” and declared in his peace statement, “The world peace begins with individuals finding their own inner peace. The genuine peace must come from internal peace“. Further he stated, “‘Our basic physical structure’ is ‘not like tigers- those meat-eater animals,’ which ‘in order to take other lives, they are equipped in a special way’ with claws and large teeth. In ‘our own case, our nails are very gentle.” He said, “Our teeth are ‘made to smile’ and our ‘fingers are well-equipped to shake hand’ and to hug.” It was worthwhile preaching in his visit to campus, Cornell University.

He conceded to give a short teaching to a group of young people around the globe to mark the occasion of his birthday to delve into own-self, the wisdom or knowledge of understanding self through video link as he could see on the screen in front of him many of the one thousand people in the audience waving and smiling at him. He laughed and said, “Awesome, nice to see you all” and waved back.

The followers, a group of young people paid honor and tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, a spiritual leader, wishing a warm birthday greeting for his good health and happiness. Most of the government officials and leaders from India and all over the world wished the same with deepest gratitude to his contribution toward world peace and giving teachings for entire human races.

Dalai Lama transcends all barriers of religion, language all over the world. His followers dedicated him the ‘Year of Gratitude’ where His Holiness’ teachings and lifework would be promoted and celebrated. He devoted his life towards the pursuit of humanitarian and environmental causes, global peace, and a lot more.

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can,” He said in one of his teachings.

He put forward the personality test to delve into own-self. “I have three questions and the answer could wonder you to insight yourself vividly. There are no right or wrong answers if you go through in depth to acquire the wisdom reality of life in yourself.”

He addressed the followers with questions.

Question # 1. He gave the name of five animals and asked them to put in order according to their own preferences or choices.

They were:

(You can put any animal’s name at first in your order list which animal come first, which one second, etc. according to your insight in you.)

Question # 2. Again, he gave few words to the followers to write about them. He wanted them to express by one word to describe them.

They were:
Dog – How do you describe it? By using only one word or two. …………………
Cat – ………………
Coffee – ………………
Ocean – ………………
Rat – ………………

Question # 3. He said to the followers, “This is the last question, you just note down— just give a name of one person to each colour. Think someone who knows you and how much important he is to relate the mentioned colour.”

Yellow – Who do you think this colour represent someone from your insight?
Orange – ……………………
Red – ……………………
White – ……………………
Green – ……………………

Then, he announced, “Once you attempt, I will interpret it for you all.”

He was so happy to talk with the followers through video link using 21st century leading digital technology around the world. He smiles and says– “When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways–either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.”

The environment was calm. Everyone was thinking about their inner quests. They ponder into the things that they couldn’t imagine. How well it was symbolic to express such things! It was an honest questionnaire!

When I was staying in New Delhi, India. I read his splendid interview about happiness, incarnation and universal responsibility in English daily newspaper while he was turning to eighty. As I prefer to talk about the world as a Global Village, I bring you small chunk of interview given to Rajiv Mehrottra, trustee secretary of the foundation of Universal Responsibility which was published in the newspaper:

What does universal responsibility mean for you?
– In our modern economy there is no national boundary and in certain health or education fields, there is already unification. But our concepts are still very much about ‘my’ nation, ‘my’ nationality or ‘my’ national boundary. Though the reality has changed, our thinking has not caught up nor is it even getting close to the truth and this is one cause for problems.

Obviously, for the seven billion members of humanity, this small planet is our only hope and we all have the responsibility to look after as a whole. We need a sense of global and universal responsibility. When that is established, our attitude towards other minor problems— economic, religious or cultural—will be more easily tackled. I advocate the practice and implementation of that kind of spirit.

He was glad to present his interpretations to all of three questions. And, asked the followers to go for understanding own-self listening interpretation of the same.

Interpretation of Question # 1. The animals order in your preferences shows your priorities in your life.

Tiger represents Pride
Cow represents Career
Horse represents Family
Sheep represents Love
Pig represents Money

It determines your inner insight that you give priorities in your real life which will affect in your family circle and community or in a society. People normally talk about others—like so proud, money-minded, loving, social, etc. It is the foresight of others to you.

Interpretation of Question # 2. How do you describe visualizing that object signifies or indicates the following things—

The description of Dog implies your own personality.
The description of Catimplies your partner’s personality.
The description of Rat implies the personality of your enemies.
The description of Coffee is how you interpret sex.
Finally, the description of Ocean implies your own life.

Your personality and your own way of life determines how much are you enjoying happiness living in a society.

Interpretation of Question # 3. Colours determine your connections with the people around you. How you really feel to them or how they are giving closeness insight to you.

Yellow refers someone you will never forget.
Orange refers someone you could consider a good friend.
Red refers someone you really love.
White refers your twin soul.
Green refers someone you will remember all your life.

It was a great evening with the followers. All the followers were cheerfully wished on his birthday as he was staying in everyone’s heart peacefully spreading message of peace and happiness to live a better life in a global village.

(I have just created an Imaginative Story to know yourself of His Holiness The Dalai Lama)

************** Thank you **************
